Live project
Gazeta F1 în România
The web edition of an independent Formula 1 magazine written by fans: every issue, read as articles in Romanian.

Live project: the site is published and used by the people we built it for, and the content on it is theirs.
Context and problem
The magazine is made in Canva and, for a long time, travelled only as a PDF. A PDF of nearly thirty megabytes is hard to read on a phone, cannot be searched, and cannot be shared a piece at a time — anyone passing on a single article passed on the whole magazine. It needed a home on the web where each issue reads article by article, without the editors changing how they work.
What we built
A site that takes the magazine as it is made. The editors upload the issue PDF, and the site lifts its text, its photographs and the boundaries between the articles, then rebuilds them as articles in Romanian. Nothing reaches readers until an editor has been through them and pressed publish. Readers can report a mistake from the page they are reading, and it lands with the editors.
Key features
- Each issue imported automatically from its PDF
- Editorial review before anything is published
- The issue archive, with the whole magazine as a PDF
- Reader reports that land with the editors
