Live project
Automobile Rulate
The stock site of a used-car dealer, where cars are imported from listings already published elsewhere.
Used-car dealer · stock + admin panel
Live project: the site is published and used by the people we built it for, and the content on it is theirs.
Context and problem
Every used car was typed in by hand three times: on Autovit, on renew, Renault's used-car brand, and on the dealer's own site. The same details, entered again each time, and each time another chance to get a price or a mileage wrong. The stock needed a site of its own, on the dealer's domain, that would not ask for the same car once more.
What we built
A stock site with an admin panel where no car is typed in a third time. An employee saves the listing they have already published as a PDF and uploads it with the original photographs. The site lifts the car's details out of the PDF into a draft: a field it cannot find is left empty and flagged rather than guessed, and nothing goes public until an employee has checked the draft and published it. Photographs are downsized in the browser and uploaded straight to storage, and a sold car leaves the stock with its record kept.
Key features
- Import from the PDF of a renew listing
- A draft an employee reviews before it is published
- Filters by make, model, fuel, gearbox, price, year and mileage
- Reserved and sold cars, with their records kept
